PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN SINGAPORE

Efficient. Convenient. Connected. These are the hallmarks of Singapore’s public transport system.

Utilised by millions of passengers daily, the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) rail system is complemented by a public bus network that covers almost every part of Singapore. This extensive and integrated network helps you get around with ease and keeps Singapore moving as a convenient business hub to live and work in.

You can download the MyTransport app (iOS Android) for handy information on train operating times, station exits, public bus services and bus arrival times. You may also download the Singapore MRT Map, which offers a comprehensive overview of the MRT system.

Download the MRT Map here.

Taxis or private hire cars offer convenience and comfort. You can flag a taxi along the street or at designated taxi stands, or book a ride anytime via local ride-hailing apps. Popular apps include: Grab, Gojek, Tada, Ryde, and Zig.

Taxis are metered, and surcharges may vary with timing, route and choice of service used. To get a rough idea of the final fare, check with the driver on the surcharges and ask for a receipt at the end of the trip.
