For the convenience of participants who are arriving and departing from Haydar Aliyev International Airport during the conference period (28 September - 5 October 2024), our host has very generously decided to arrange a shuttle bus service from the airport to either one of the five proposed conference hotels, namely: (1) Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard  (2) Four Seasons Hotel Baku  (3) Ritz Carlton Baku (4) Holiday Inn Baku and (5) Ibis Baku. 

This service will only be provided to participants who have successfully provided full travel details as part of the online registration process before the deadline of 15 September 2024.  

Please note: Participants who have chosen other accommodation and have provided their travel details are invited to join the shuttle service to/from the conference hotel tha tis closest to their destination. Participants who have not provided full travel details can use the Airport Express bus, book a taxi at the booth located in Terminal 1, or take advantage of Bolt or Uber transportation services.

Most nationalities can apply for an e-visa, while some don’t need a visa at all. For all others, tourist visas can be obtained by applying via the nearest Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. When applying for e-visas to Azerbaijan, please note the following: 

* You must apply at least three working days before your visit. 
* Your passport must be valid for at least three months after the e-visa expires. 
 
Registration after arrival 

All visitors temporarily staying in the Republic of Azerbaijan for more than fifteen days must be registered at the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan based on their place of residence. To register, it is necessary to apply within fifteen days (for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within thirty days) from the moment of arrival to the country, which is recorded electronically and can be accessed in the section on electronic services of the official website of the State Migration Service or by email (qeydiyyat@migration.gov.az), as well as directly at regional migration offices and ASAN Service centers. 

This registration is necessary even if the person has a valid e-visa. No state fee is charged for the registration of foreigners and stateless persons at their place of residence. For more information, please visit https://www.migration.gov.az/en/oyq/  

Letter of Invitation

On request, the Local Organising Committee will send a letter of invitation to participants to assist them in obtaining travel approvals, funding, visas and/or to pass through immigration. The Letter of Invitation does not guarantee the granting of a visa, the provision of any financial or other support or reservation of a seat at the conference.

ACCOMMODATION

Please find below a list of hotels selected by the Local Organising Committee and the IAP Officials for your convenience. Please note that there are special discounted rates available, and delegates will need to book directly through the links (or use special promo codes) to secure their booking. Alternatively, delegates can make bookings at these or other hotels not included on the list through one of the many online travel agencies such as Booking.com or Hotels.com.  

Please note: The host will provide a shuttle bus service from the official IAP conference hotels to and from the conference venue and venues for the night programme.

Only the capital, Baku, has a metro system, which operates between 6 am and 12 am, with trains running every 2-3 minutes. There are two lines - the Red Line from Icherisheher to Hazi Aslanov, and the Green Line from Khatai to Darnagul. 

Buses are inexpensive in Baku, and bus schedules are generally available at bus stops. On the bus and Baku underground, one journey costs 0.40 AZN, and taxis are also widely available as an alternative option. Baku has several licensed taxi firms, the most famous of which are Baku Taxi Company and 189 Taxi, while UBER, Bolt, and other taxi apps are also available. 

Buses run from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to the city center and operate around the clock. The trip costs 1.30 AZN and is paid for with a BakuCard, which can be purchased at the airport or at a bus stop for 2 AZN. 

Buses and trains are also a convenient and affordable way to travel around the country. There are daily direct rail links to Sheki, Ganja, Gabala, Lankaran, Shamkir and other cities, including direct flights to Nakchivan from the Heydar Aliyev International Airport and buses from the Baku International Bus Station.
